Family Outing – We’re bringing chalk

When Kate and John reached out for a family session at the beach, they asked if it was ok if they brought chalk. I said sure, that sounds like a good time and should make for some fun photos. I had zero idea that it was going to be kicked up to level 10! It was truly awesome letting the kids have fun throwing the chalk all over, jumping in the water, and just watching them have a blast! For my family sessions, we don’t do a ton of posing, because I want this to be a fun experience instead of just that time everyone took boring posed photos together. I want everyone to have a great time and be themselves. It’s on me as your photographer to anticipate moments and capture them as they unfold in front of me. This was the perfect example of how great real moments truly are. I do want to note, that I will give a little guidance here and there, as well as a handful of quick posed photos, but I do have to say my favorites and my clients favorites are the unposed pics. I may have ended up going home with salt water drenched clothes, full of sand and chalk but it was definitely worth it!
